Black Mountain K9 continually trains their K9's for finding the lost.  There are many disciplines that we are currently training for.  Trailing, Area Live Find, and Human Remains Detection are the disciplines currently underway with our K9 teams.  We have three dogs that are certified.  Hank the Tank, who is certified in Area Live Find, Wilderness HRD, and Small Source HRD. Indy, who is certified in Wilderness HRD and Small Source HRD. Nova, who is certified in Wilderness HRD and Small Source HRD. Click the link below to view our minimum search K9 team standards.  These standards were developed pulling from several National Standard requirements and some State Standard requirements.  Our goal is to provide highly trained K9 Teams to assist families in need.  We use 3rd party evaluators to certify our K9's.  It is very important to have the dogs evaluated by someone who is outside of the BMK9 organization.  The evaluator must be someone with experience in working either a SAR K9 or a L.E.
