Black Mountain K9 Search & Rescue was created to assist families in finding missing individuals, using trained and certified dogs. This solely volunteer 501(c)3 organization offers their search & rescue trained K9 teams services at no charge to the public, law enforcement agencies and other search & rescue organizations.
When training a K9 for Search and Rescue the training never stops. The K9 handler and the dog are constantly training and working at becoming the best team they can be. There is training for the specific discipline that the dog will be working in, but they must also train for agility, conditioning, obedience, and of course always be working on their bond to each other. These K9's are owned by their handlers, and live with their handlers. All costs for food, gear, veterinary expenses, training seminars, costs to travel to training and mission areas are the handlers expenses. When you donate you give us the ability to try to offset some of these expenses for the K9 Teams. You will see Black Mountain K9 at community events. This is not only to raise donations, but it is also to raise awareness that we are available to the community when they need help.
We appreciate the support of our community.
